ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sophomore Spencer Levin of the University of New Mexico men's golf team will play in the 104th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. Levin qualified for the U.S. Open through local and then sectional qualifying rounds.

The local qualifying for Levin began at Twin Wariors Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. Levin shot a round of 69 and advanced with Gregory Condon, who shot 71, to the sectionals. Levin played his sectional round at the Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif., where the top-four finishers advance to the U.S. Open. Levin carded rounds of 69 and 72 and finished in a tie for second out of 72 golfers to advance to the U.S. Open.

Levin is scheduled to tee off at 10:10 AM (MST) from the first hole on Thursday and at 5:10 AM (MST) from the 10th hole on Friday. Live scoring of the event can be found at www.usopen.com and television coverage can be seen beginning at 8:00 AM (MST) at ESPN and continue in the afternoon on NBC.
