SALT LAKE CITY - Junior college All-American Steve Broker has signed a national letter-of-intent with the University of Utah men's golf program. Ute head coach Randall McCracken announced the signing of the Dixie State College product Monday afternoon.

Broker earned All-America status with an eighth-place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship this past season. He fired a 14-under-par score of 274 at Nationals.

"Steve is going to be a great addition to our team next year," McCracken said. "His game is solid from top to bottom, plus he brings a lot of competitive experience. Steve is ready to move from the junior-college level to Division I. We are very excited he elected to come to the University of Utah."

In addition to his All-America performance, Broker posted five other top-10 finishes in 2005-06. He was the medalist at the Mustang Intercollegiate, while finishing third at the ACCAC Division I Championship. Broker finished in a tie for fourth place at the Dixie State Invitational, was tied for sixth at the Gateway Invitational and tied for seventh at the High Country Shootout.

Broker is a Richfield, Utah native and a graduate of Richfield High School.
