LAS VEGAS - Already one of the most decorated student-athletes in school history, UNLV senior golf star Ryan Moore continued to roll up national awards as his record-setting college career came to a close over the weekend.

Moore, who finished fifth at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, was named the 2005 winner of the Nicklaus Award presented by Dillards Inc. and Hartmarx Corp. The honor is presented to the outstanding player in Division I golf.

Moore also joined two former Rebels (Jeremy Anderson and Warren Schutte) in becoming the program's only two-time Ping First Team All-Americans.

The first Rebel ever to win the Nicklaus, Moore was last month tabbed the school's initial winner of the Hogan Award, generally referred to as the Heisman Trophy of college golf.

The low amateur at the Masters with a tie for 13th place, Moore won three tournaments this season: the William H. Tucker, the John Burns Intercollegiate and the Hall of Fame Invitational. He finished no lower than sixth in a collegiate event this season and led the nation in stroke average with a school-record 69.28. Moore's final career scoring mark of 70.76 also shattered Anderson's all-time Rebel record of 72.01.

The 2004 NCAA Champion won the U.S. Public Links and U.S. Amateur, as well as the Sahalee Players Championship and the Western Amateur. A member of the U.S. World Amateur team, he was low individual at the competition.

The native of Puyallup, Wash., competed in the Walker Cup and two Palmer Cups presented by Monster. Moore was also named Mountain West Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
