DURHAM, N.C. - UNLV senior golfer Scott Lander was selected to the Division I PING All-America team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Monday.

Lander earns honorable mention honors after a stellar season in which he finished second in the Mountain West Conference with a 72.56 stroke average, was chosen to represent the U.S. at this year's Palmer Cup competition, and climbed to 48th in the latest MasterCard rankings, administered by the GCAA and the College Golf Foundation.

One of 57 collegiate golfers honored by the GCAA, it is the first time in his career Lander has achieved the coveted All-America kudos.

The Kingman, Ariz., native becomes the 15th player coached to All-America accolades by UNLV head coach Dwaine Knight, and his selection marks the 13th consecutive year that at least one player in the Rebel lineup has claimed All-America status.

Lander earned his bachelor's degree in communications from UNLV last month.
