SUNRIVER, Ore. - Senior golfer Garrett Clegg finished his Ute career with 14-over-par effort to tie for 81st at NCAA West Regional Golf Championships at the Crosswater Course at Sunriver Resort.

Clegg had a score of 230 (79-73-78) in the three-day, 54-hole tournament. He needed to place among the top two individuals to advance to the NCAA Championships.

In Saturday's final round, the Bountiful, Utah, native teed off on the 10 hole and shot 39 on both the front and back sides. He had a birdie at the sixth hole in his six-over-par round.

Top-seeded UCLA trailed ninth-seed New Mexico a majority of the day on Saturday before pulling out a one-stroke victory at the par-72, 7,597 yard Crosswater Club. The Bruins finished at one-over (865) after a final round team-score of 294, tying Pepperdine for the low score of the day. UCLA's Travis Johnson and Arizona's Chris Nallen tied for medalist honors at five-under 211.

Joining UCLA and New Mexico in advancing to the NCAA Championships in Hot Springs, Va., are: Arizona (+8, 872), Arizona State (+9, 873), Brigham Young (+17, 881), USC (+17, 881), Toledo (+18, 882), California (+18, 882), Pepperdine (+20, 884) and Washington (+21, 885).

UNLV battled with Pepperdine and Washington for the tenth and final position but stumbled late for an 11th-place finish.

UNLV will be represented at the Championships by Ryan Moore, who qualified as an individual with a four-under 212, giving him a third-place finish for the tournament. UTEP's Chris Baryla fired a 34 on the back nine and three-under for the tournament, good enough to punch the final ticket to Virginia. Baryla was one of just four players to card red numbers on Saturday.
