Ram Finish Tied for 16th at NCAA Regionals Morris leads Rams with 66 in final round.

The Colorado State Men's Golf team concluded play at the NCAA West Regional at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday. The Rams moved up two spots to a tie for 16th, improving upon their rounds first two identical rounds of 284 (-4) on the first two days by shooting a 276 (-12) today. Freshman Dustin Morris led the Rams for the second consecutive day, carding a 6-under 66 and finishing in a tie for 18th overall with his three-day total of 206 (-10). Senior Aaron Weston bounced back after shooting 75 in his first two rounds, to tally a 5-under 67 on Saturday. Sophomore All-MWC golfer Zen Brown shot a 71 (-1) for the second straight day, after opening with a 69 (-3) in the first round. Brown finished the tournament in a tie for tie for 43rd with a 211 (-1). Freshman Bryce Hanstad shot even-par for the Rams in the third round and finished the week 3-over par, while senior Derrick Whiting shot a third-round score of 73 (+1), finishing 2-under par for the tournament. As a team, Colorado State shot a three-day total of 844 (-20), and finished just five strokes out of qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
