The Colorado State Men's Golf team sits at 8-under par in 17th place after the second day of the NCAA Men's Golf Western Regional at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., on Friday.

 

For the second consecutive round, the team shot a 4-under 284.  Freshman Dustin Morris led the Rams, carding a 69 (-3).  Senior Derrick Whiting and sophomore Zen Brown also finished under par on the second day, recording identical rounds of 71 (-1).  Brown and Morris now sit in a tie for 42nd at 4-under par heading into the third round. 

 

After finishing the front-nine 2 under par, Aaron Weston struggled on the back-nine, and finished the round at 3-over par.  Freshman Bryce Hanstad carded a 73 (+1). 


Play in the third round begins tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m. PT.  The Rams will begin day three of the tournament at 11:42 a.m.  Colorado State currently sits 11 strokes out of 10th place.  The top-10 teams will continue on to the Championship.  The Rams progress can be tracked live on www.GolfStat.com.
