COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals that will participate in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, and the Mountain West Conference will have representation from six institutions.

Five MWC teams landed in the West Regional, with four of the five participating in District 7. New Mexico is the No. 1 seed in District 7 of the West Regional, followed by BYU at No. 2, San Diego State at No. 3 and Colorado State as a No. 4 seed. BYU earned an automatic bid after winning the Mountain West Conference Championship last week. Wyoming's David Hearn was selected to compete as an individual in District 7.

UNLV is a No. 4 seed in District 8 of the West Regional, which will be played May 17-19 at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore., hosted by Oregon State University. Last year, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State and UNLV earned bids to the NCAA Golf Championships.

The championships will be conducted May 30 to June 2 at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. Duke University is the host institution for this year's championships. Three regional tournaments, encompassing the current nine districts, will be conducted May 17-19. A total of 421 participants have been selected for the regional competition with 156 of these players advancing to the championships finals.
