Sunriver, Ore. - The Mountain West Conference announced its 2001 all-conference team and individual awards at the conclusion of its mens golf championship today at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. San Diego State sophomore Lars Johansson was named Player of the Year, while James Oh of UNLV was selected the Freshman of the Year in a vote by the leagues head coaches. Coach of the Year honors went J.T. Higgins of New Mexico.

Overall, four seniors, one junior, and a sophomore make up the all-conference team. New Mexico was the only institution with more than one student-athlete on the all-conference team with Wil Collins and Michael Letzig. BYU's Billy Harvey, Colorado State's Robby Stephenson, UNLV's Scott Lander, and Wyoming's David Hearn round out the all-league selections.
