MWC Men's Golfer of the Week (4/12/01) Colorado State's Martin Laird takes home conference honor.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Martin Laird was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season after tying for fifth out of 90 golfers at the Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic in Wichita, Kan., last week. Laird fired off a career single-round low of 66 to help the Rams tie for second place. The Bearsden, United Kingdom, native totaled 208 (72-66-70) in the event, marking his lowest total of the season. Laird has finished in the top five in each of his last two tournaments.
