MWC Men's Golfer of the Month SDSU's Warman garners honor for first time this season.
April 4, 2002 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State sophomore Mark Warman was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for March after leading the Aztecs to a pair of team victories at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and USD Invitational. SDSU has participated in four tournaments this spring and has captured the team title in three of those four outings. Warman has competed in all nine events this season, including three tournaments in March. He finished second in both the Pacific Coast (71-70-73=214) and USD Tournaments (68-73-78=219), while placing 47th at the Oregon Duck Invitational (73-74-76=223). Warman started the month under par in three of his first four rounds played, including a season-low 68 on the first 18 holes of the USD Invitational. The two second-place finishes were both career-highs and he has now collected six top-20 finishes this year. He is currently ranked tied for fourth on the Mountain West leaderboard with a 72.6 stroke average over 27 rounds.
