MWC Men's Golfer Of The Month For March SDSU's Andrew Scott earns this month's honors.
March 30, 2006 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior Andrew Scott has been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for March. It marks the second time this season that Scott has received the monthly honor. The Henderson, Nev., native led all Aztec golfers with a tie for second at the par-72 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational with a 2-under 214 (69-74-71) final score. Almost two weeks later, Scott placed fifth at the Oregon Duck Invitational, again carding a 2-under 214 (73-69-72). The 22nd-ranked Aztecs took the top spot in both events and are just one tournament win away from breaking the school record for the most tournament wins in a season. In three out of the four tournaments played during the spring portion of the 2005-06 campaign, Scott has been in the top five on the individual leaderboard. As a result, Scott leads all Aztec golfers with the lowest overall stroke average of 72.3 and the lowest SCIRP average of +1.4. From his performance in the past two tournaments, he now leads the team with most 18-hole rounds in the 60s (5), most even par-rounds (3) and has the most rounds that were counted towards the teams' final score (25).
