COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV sophomore Ryan Moore was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for the second time in a row as he led the Rebels to three top-five team finishes to begin the spring season. Moore, who was named to the Hogan Award Watch List last month, also captured his first individual title at the Toyota Men's Collegiate Championship that included a field of 15 of the top 25, and eight of the top 10, teams in the country. He shot under par in seven of the nine round played, including a season-low 66. Moore opened the spring season tying for 20th place at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Leilehua, Hawai`i. After shooting a 77 in the first round, he fired a season-low 66 in the second round followed by a 71 on the final day to finish with a two-under, 214. As a team, UNLV placed fourth. In the Toyota Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., Moore posted an eight-under 208 (71-70-67) and overcame a five-stroke deficit on the final day to win the event by a single stroke and lead the Rebels to a second-place team finish. A week later, Moore and the Rebels posted a third-place finish at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas, that included nine of the country's top 25 teams. Moore began the 54-hole tournament with 74 in the first found, but finished strong posting a 70 and 68 in the final 36 holes to place 10th with a four-under 212.
