COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico sophomore Spencer Levin was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for February after two top five finishes, including medalist honors at the John Burns Intercollegiate.

Levin, a transfer from UCLA, began his New Mexico career tying for third at the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate and helping the Lobos to a second-place team finish. He shot an 11-under 202 (70-63-69) on the par 71, 6,793 yard Arizona National Country Club course. Levin topped his UNM debut two weeks later at the John Burns Intercollegiate as he won the individual title, leading the tournament from wire-to-wire. His 15-under 201 (67-65-69) on the par 71, 6,917 yard Leilehua Golf Course bettered Nolan Martin of Colorado State by one stroke and led New Mexico to a third place team finish. Levin's effort at the Burns Intercollegiate also garnered him Golfweek Player of the Week on Feb. 26.

Golfer of the Month: September - Todd Miller, Jr., BYU; October/November - Nolan Martin Sr., Colorado State; February - Spencer Levin, So., New Mexico.
