Utah Golf In Fifth After Second Round Of Kauai Invite

KAUAI, Hawaii - The University of Utah men's golf team is in fifth place after the second round of the 2009 Kauai Collegiate Invite. Utah shot a mark of 291 in the first round and 285 in the second for a total of 576.

Freshman Camden Nicholson leads the Utes tied for second place with a second round score of 67 for a total two round mark of 136, eight-under-par.

Kaleb Mahanes is tied for 23rd place with a score of 145 (74, 71), one-over-par. One stroke behind Mahanes is Junior Mike Branca with a mark of 146 (73, 73), two-over-par.

Tied for 30th place junior Chase Hite ended the second round five-over-par shooting a score of 149 (75, 74). Derek Adams is tied for 46th place with a mark of 154 (80, 74), 10-over-par.

In the team standings the University of San Diego is leading by 23 strokes with a two round total of 550 (276, 274), 26-under-par. Ben Murray of San Diego leads the individuals with a score of 134 (68, 66), 10-under-par.

The invite will wrap up with the final round on Wednesday.
