LAKESIDE, Calif. - Martin Laird shot an eight-under-par three-round 208 to lead Colorado State University's men's golf team to a third place finish in the Barona Collegiate Cup in Lakeside, Calif.

Laird carded three-under 69's on the final two rounds to go with his two-under 70 the first round and finish at 208, tying for third, two shots behind Peter Tomasulo and John Lepak, who tied for individuals honors. Tomasulo, who plays for the University of California, and John Lepak from San Diego State, each shot 10-under scores of 206.

San Diego State won the team title with an 846, 18 under. Denver University finished second, six shots back at 852, 12 under, and the Rams were third.

Brett Tobyne was the next highest Rams' finisher at 215, tying for 21st place. Nolan Martin finished in a tie for 27th at 217. Geoff Nuwash finished tied for 39th at 219, and Kevin McAlpine tied for 55th, 222.
