COLUMBUS, Ohio - His final round was over par, but that was good enough to earn UNLV freshman Ryan Moore a top-10 finish at the NCAA Men's Golf Championship.

Moore (72-69-68-72-281) began the day at four-under par and tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard, four strokes behind the leader. But by slipping to one-over in the final round, he was able only to manage a top-10 finish, tying with four other players for eighth.

He was the top player for UNLV (292-289-290-296-1167), which finished in 23rd place, and the only one of the five-man lineup to end under par. Freshman J.C. Deacon (73-76-69-74-292) was the closest Rebel, finishing in a tie for 74th at eight-over.

Rounding out UNLV's corps were Clark Corbett (73-71-77-75-296), who tied for 102nd; Brien Davis (75-73-76-75-299), who tied for 124th; and Brandon Askew (74-78-77-78-307), who tied for 148th.

Minnesota (284-289-283-278-1134) mounted a surprise come-from-behind win with an amazing six-under par day to win by four over Georgia Tech (277-286-290-285-1138), but the Yellow Jackets' Troy Matteson (73-66-70-67-276) held on to take medallist honors.
