STILLWATER, Okla. - The UNLV men's golf team shot 312 in the final round of the NCAA Championship and fell to a 13th-place finish at Karsten Creek Golf Course on Friday.

The Rebels scored 24-over par for the day to finish at 68-over in the 72-hole event. Clemson won the national title by two strokes over host Oklahoma State, totaling 1191, 39 strokes over par.

Individually, the Rebels' Ryan Moore began the day tied for 17th at even par. But the Rebels' All-American turned in his worst score of the four-round event, a five-over par 77. He finished tied for 22nd.

Sophomore Travis Whisman was the Rebels' daily leader, shooting 73. He finished alone in 34th place, 14-over par.

Rounding out the Rebels' totals were freshman Ryan Keeney with a 79 and senior Brien Davis with an 83. JC Deacon's 85 was not counted.

Keeney finished tied for 56th at 22-over par. Davis tied for 71st at 27-over, and Deacon finished 82nd at 33-over par.

Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares shot the best score of the day, a 69, to come from behind and defeat Auburn's Lee Williams by two strokes.

The NCAA Championship concludes the 2002-03 season for UNLV.
