ORLANDO, Fla. - The No. 7 UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 5-over-par 293 on Friday and moved up one spot into second place, two shots off the lead at the NCAA East Regional at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club (par 72, 7,179 yards).

Wake Forest is third at 5-over 581, followed by Texas Tech at 6-over 582 and North Carolina rounds out the top five at 9-over 585. Conditions on Friday afternoon were extremely windy, which played a part in the fact that no team broke par during the second round.

UNLV sophomore Jarred Texter followed up his first-round 2-under 70 with another 70 on Friday and is tied for second at 4-under 140 for the tournament, one shot off the lead. North Carolina's Jonathan Jackson is also tied for second place. Jackson followed a first-round 6-under 66 with a 2-over 74 during the second round.
