Men's Golf Jumps To Tie For 19th At NCAA Regional

Corvallis, Oregon (May 18) - The University of New Mexico men's golf team shot a team total of 299 to move into a tie for 19th place at the NCAA West Regional at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis, Ore. The Lobos improved by six shots from Thursday's first-round 305, giving them a two-day total of 604. UNM is tied with California in the 27-team field heading into Saturday's final round. The top-10 finishers advance to the NCAA Championships later this month in Durham, N.C. New Mexico is 12 shots behind 10th-place South Carolina and Pepperdine, who are at 592. Individually for New Mexico, Scott Hailes shot an even-par 72 for a 2-over 146 after two rounds. Joel Hendry leads UNM at 143 (+1) after shooting 73. Following a 79 in the first round, Wil Collins came back to shoot 73. He is at 8-over 152.
