Falcons Finish in Eighth Place at MWC Championships Team suffers from youth and inexperience in last place finish

Air Force finished the season with an eighth place finish at the 2003 Mountain West Conference championships in Sunriver, Ore.. The Falcons carded a three-round total of 923 (305-308-310). The Falcons struggled on a tough course, capturing four of the bottom five spots in the tournament. Jarett Hamamoto had the top Air Force finish, tying for 26th place overall. Hamamoto carded 76-75-74=225.
New Mexico claimed its first conference golf title The Lobos led after each of the three rounds, today posting a team score of 291, for a 855 total. UNM was led by Michael Letzig's three-under, 69, forcing a sudden death playoff with Colorado State's Martin Laird. Letzig claimed individual honors on the first sudden death hole with a par on the par 4, 386 yard, first hole.
