Utah Golf in Sixth at MWC Championships Utes jump one spot following second round 289

SUNRIVER, Ore. - The Utah men's golf team shot a second round score of 289 on Friday to jump up one spot to sixth at the 2003 Mountain West Conference Championships. The Utes are three-over-par with a two-round score of 579 (290-289). Garrett Clegg continues to lead all Utes and is in ninth place at two-under, 142 (69-73). Steve Newren added a second round 70 to get to one-under, 143 (73-30) and is in 11th. Carl Jensen is in 17th with a two over, 146 (74-72), Luke Swilor is in 23rd at four-over, 148 (74-74) and Casey Fowles is at 12-over heading into the final round. New Mexico lost three stokes on its lead but is still in first place two strokes ahead of Brigham Young. The final round of competition will tee off on Saturday morning at the Crosswater Golf Club.
