SUNRIVER, Ore. - Still playing in poor weather conditions, the UNLV men's golf team shot a 19-over par 307 and slipped to seventh place after the second round of the Mountain West Conference Championships at the Crosswater Course at Sunriver Resort on Tuesday.

The Rebels were led on the day by sophomore Calvin Kupeyan, who rebounded from posting the worst individual total on the first day with a two-over par score of 74. He climbed five spots to 34th on the individual leaderboard.

UNLV's overall leader is still freshman Travis Whisman, who fell from a tie for seventh place to a tie for 16th in the second round. Whisman followed Monday's 76 with a six-over par 78.

Also figuring into the Rebels' total on Tuesday were senior Scott Lander, who carded a three-over 75 and sits tied for 22nd at 11-over par, and sophomore Brien Davis, who shot 80. At 17-over par, Davis is tied for 35th place overall with teammate James Oh, who followed yesterday's 79 with a 10-over 82.

New Mexico was the team on the move, jumping from fifth place to a tie for first in the team standings. The Lobos posted the only sub-par round of the tournament, finishing the day at 285, three-under par. At 23-over for the tourney, they are tied with BYU for the team lead.

San Diego State's John Lepak and BYU's Jesse Hibler are tied atop the individual leaderboard at three-over par.

The final round of the Mountain West Conference Championships will begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Wednesday.
