SUNRIVER, Ore. - New Mexico fired a 10-over par 298 in Saturday's final round for a one-over 865 total to capture the 2006 Mountain West Conference Men's Golf at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore. The Lobos captured their fourth straight conference title and were led by senior Jay Choi, who carded a final-round 73 for a one-under par 215 to earn medalist honors.

San Diego State was the runner-up in the team race with an eight-over 296 in the third round for a 54-hole total of six-over 870. UNLV finished third with a final round 293 for a 10-over 874. BYU placed fourth with an 878 total, while TCU was fifth at 882, Colorado State was sixth at 883, Utah was seventh at 903, Wyoming was eighth at 914 and Air Force placed ninth at 931.

Andrew Scott of San Diego State and Tom Miles of TCU tied for second place with identical scores of 74 over the final round, and 54-hole totals of even-par 216 on the 7,630-yard, par 72 Crosswater Course.
