SDSU Leads MWC Championship after Day One CSU senior Martin Laird is the individual leader after shooting a 64.

BEND, Ore. - San Diego State leads Colorado State by a stroke after the first round of the 2004 Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship played on the Crosswater Course (Par 72/7,568) at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. The Aztecs shot an opening round team total 288 (E), followed by Colorado State at one-over 289. BYU is in third place with a four-over 292, followed by Utah in fourth (293) and defending MWC Champion New Mexico in fifth (295). UNLV is sixth at 296, followed by Wyoming (307) and Air Force (320).
Colorado State senior Martin Laird is the individual leader through the first 18-holes after carding a course record eight-under 64. His first round score also broke his own MWC Championship single-round low of 66 set during the second round in 2003. Laird holds a five-stroke lead over San Diego State's Mark Warman who completed the first day with a three-under 69.
The second round will begin at 9:30 a.m. (PT) Friday morning, with the final 18 holes beginning Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
