Zen Brown selected to All-Conference Team

TUCSON, Ariz. - Colorado State earned fourth place the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championship. Three Rams finished in the top-20 at the par-71, 7,136-yard Catalina Course. Zen Brown was elected to the MWC All-Conference Team.

Colorado State carded their best round of the nine-team tournament, a 284, on the last day to move up one spot and earn fourth place. The Rams recorded rounds of 287-289-284 to earn an 860 three-round total. Zen Brown led the Rams at the tournament. He posted rounds of 71-72-71 to achieve a 214 total and 12th place. Aaron Weston finished one stroke behind Brown earning a 215 total. He shot rounds of 74-71-70 to achieve a tie for 13th. Bryce Hanstad finished in the top-20 for the second-consecutive tournament. He posted rounds of 75-72-70 to achieve a 217 total and 19th place. Derrick Whiting earned a tie for 22nd after carding rounds of 72-74-73 for a 219 total. Dustin Morris recorded rounds of 70-74-76 to achieve a tie for 24th and a 220 total.

Brigham Young captured the Mountain West title. The Cougars carded rounds of 272-288-286 to achieve an 846 total. They beat the second-place UNLV Rebels by one stroke. The Rebels recorded rounds of 275-293-279 to earn an 847 total. Robby Ormand of TCU and Adam Porzak tied for first at a 207 total. Ormand carded rounds of 68-68-71 while Porzak recorded rounds of 67-69-71. Ormand later won the individual title after winning a playoff between the two.

After the tournament, Zen Brown was named to the 2007 MWC All-Conference Team. He was the only Ram to be selected. The Rams have finished their regular season schedule and await selection to the NCAA Regional tournament.
