April 28, 2006 SUNRIVER, Ore. - For complete results, click here New Mexico leads the 2006 Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship after firing a five-under par 283 in Friday's second round at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore. The three-time defending tournament champion Lobos finished the first 36 holes with nine-under 567, and currently hold a seven stroke advantage over San Diego State. The Aztecs moved into second position after carding the best team score of the day with an eight-under par 280. Overall, SDSU has a team score of two-under par 574 through the first two days. TCU is in third place with an even par 576, followed by BYU in fourth (579) and UNLV in fifth (581). TCU junior Drew Stoltz took the individual lead after carding a two-under par 70 today on the 7,630-yard, par 72 Crosswater Course. Stoltz has a 36-hole total of three-under 141 and holds a one stroke advantage over San Diego State's Andrew Scott (70-72=142), UNLV's Matt Kinsinger (70-72=142), New Mexico's Jay Choi (72-70=142) and TCU teammate Tom Miles (70-72=142). Six other players remain just two-strokes back of Stoltz heading into the final round of the championship. The second round of action saw 18 scores of even par or better, including six below the 70 mark. Utah sophomore Dustin Pimm carded the lowest score of the tournament through 36 holes with a 66 today.
