LAREDO, Texas - The University of New Mexico men's golf team shot a final round 292 to finish in third place with a final team score of 865 (+1) at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas. UNM moved up one spot from its fourth place standing after 36 holes of action. Baylor won the team title with a score of 845 (-19), while San Diego State finished second, seven strokes ahead of the Lobos at 858 (-6).

Individually, Scott Hailes shot 4-under par (68) in the final round to finish in seventh place at 3-under par (213) for the tournament, while teammate Jay Reynolds shot 215 (-1) to finish in 11th place. Michael Letzig finished tied for 25th with a final score of 219 (+3), while Wil Collins finished tied for 40th with a 222 (+6). Jim Anderson shot seven-over par (223) to finish 48th at the tournament.
