SENATOR SENDS LETTER TO OBAMA OUTLINING ISSUES

SENATE JUDICIARY SUBCOMMITTEE ON ANTITRUST, COMPETITION POLICY AND CONSUMER RIGHTS TO HOLD HEARING ON "THE BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: IS IT FAIR AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH ANTITRUST LAW" ON TUESDAY, JULY 7

The Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights will hold a hearing entitled "The Bowl Championship Series: Is it Fair and In Compliance with Antitrust Law?" on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 226 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. Chairman Kohl will preside.

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection held a hearing titled, "The Bowl Championship Series: Money and Other Issues of Fairness for Publicly Financed Universities" on Friday, May 1, 2009, in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. This hearing examined issues of competitive fairness and the extent to which public colleges and universities are adversely impacted by the inequitable distribution of revenue generated from the Bowl Championship Series system.
