Green Figures to Get Bowl Start Perseverance pays for running back.

By Natalie Meisler FORT COLLINS, Colo. - It's safe to assume most Priest Holmes fans in this state are transplants from Kansas or Missouri, or are fantasy football league participants fortunate enough to have drafted the Pro Bowl running back with the gaudy statistics. Then there's Colorado State running back Jimmy Green. For Green, the Kansas City Chiefs star is a role model, not just a scoring machine for Monday water cooler bragging rights. "I look at how Priest Holmes backed up Ricky Williams in college at Texas," Green said. "Determination and perseverance, that's what got me through." When the Rams convened for two-a-days in the heat of August, Green, a redshirt junior college transfer with three years of eligibility remaining, wasn't even a blip on the depth chart. There were four running backs ahead of him. A similar situation applied to walk-on junior linebacker Adam Lancisero and redshirt freshman wide receiver Dustin Osborn.
