Georgia Tech quarterback Joe Hamilton, who became the Atlantic Coast Conference’s all-time touchdown passing leader in 1999, has been named 1999 Player of the Year in conjunction with the 2nd annual Bowl Championship Series Online All-America team, as selected by ABC Sports' college football announcers and production team. Bowl Championship Series Online (espn.com), a part of GO.com (NYSE:GO), is the official site of college football’s Bowl Championship Series, which culminates with the live January 4 ABC Sports telecast of the Nokia Sugar Bowl pitting top-ranked Florida State against second-ranked Virginia Tech for the national championship.
