Rams Open Bowl Preparations Colorado State is 10-3 on the season.
Dec. 13, 2002 FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State University's football team opens AXA Liberty Bowl preparations Saturday with a 2 p.m. practice session. Rams' coach Sonny Lubick's team will practice again Sunday at 1 p.m. as Colorado State prepares for its Dec. 31 game with TCU in Memphis, Tenn. Colorado State is 10-3 on the season and in both major top 25 polls. The Rams won the Mountain West Conference with a 6-1 record, the third time in the league's four seasons of existence that Colorado State has won or shared the conference title. TCU enters the game 9-3 after having won a share of the Conference USA title under second-year coach Gary Patterson. Since the end of the regular season two weeks ago, Lubick and his staff have spent the majority of the time on the road recruiting prospective student-athletes. Now the Rams will be back on the field practicing for the first time.
While coaches were on the road recruiting, team members conditioned
in the weight room and doing various running drills.
