Colorado Statae Continues Preparation for San Francisco Bowl Rams conduct 90-minute workout.
Dec. 12, 2003 FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State University's football team was back on the football practice field Thursday for a 90-minute workout as the Rams continued practice for the team's Dec. 31 Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl. "I thought practice went pretty well. It was good to have the players out there, trying to get some things done," said Rams' coach Sonny Lubick. Tickets to the game are on sale by calling 491-RAMS, 1-800-491-RAMS, or online, CSUBOWL.com. Tickets are also on sale at all King Soopers and City Market locations throughout the state of Colorado. Lubick said the team would be back on the practice field Saturday and Sunday for another pair of workouts, each beginning at 12:30 p.m. Rams' quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt, who broke his right hand in the team's final regular season game at UNLV and had surgery to repair the injury, was on the field but did not throw the football. Van Pelt is expected to be able to begin throwing as early as this weekend. Van Pelt leads the team in rushing with 889 yards and threw for more than 2,600 yards. He was chosen as the Mountain West Conference's offensive player of the year for the second season in a row.
The game will be broadcast statewide on the Colorado State Sports Network including KIIX (1410 AM) in Fort Collins and KNUS (710 AM) in Denver. Rich Bircumshaw will call the play-by-play, Erik Olson is the analyst and Brian Roth is the sideline reporter. The game will be televised live by ESPN2.
