Dec. 8, 2003

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State University's football team returned to the practice field Saturday for a 90-minute session as the team continues preparations for the Dec. 31 Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl game against Boston College.

Rams' coach Sonny Lubick put his team through its second workout since earning the bowl bid by virtue of a 24-23 win at UNLV to close the regular season.

The Ramas, 7-5, face a Boston College team that is also 7-5 and advanced to the bowl game by beating nationally ranked Virginia Tech in the final game of the regular season.

"Boston College is a solid team," said Lubick. "They are going to be physical an try to run the ball. They have a very good runningback and are sound all the way around."

Eagles' tailback Derrick Knight is Boston College's all-time leading rusher and ranks third nationally. He has gained 1,579 yards in 2003 and more than 3,000 yards in his career.

Tickets to the game are available by calling 491-RAMS, toll-free at 1-800-491-RAMS, or on-line at CSUBOWL.com. Tickets are also available at all King Soopers and City Market locations throughout the state of Colorado.

Colorado State's team travel party is expected to depart for San Francisco the day after Christmas and return New Year's Day.
