U. Job Proving Attractive The Deseret News Feature Story
Dec. 3, 2002
By Linda Hamilton SALT LAKE CITY - Utah athletic director Chris Hill was right. The Utah football coaching job is quite attractive. University of Oregon offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig, who went to Bonneville High School in Ogden and Snow Junior College and spent a year as a Ute graduate assistant, said he hasn't been contacted about the position. But he'd sure like to be. "I have a lot of interest in the Utah job," Ludwig said by telephone, calling it a "quality job. "A sincere interest," he added. "Utah is a great place, and the University of Utah has a chance to be a great football program," Ludwig said. Only USC's Norm Chow has publicly indicated he has some contact with Utah so far, a little more than a week into the process of replacing the fired Ron McBride. Some reports have indicated that Colorado assistant Shawn Watson has been contacted, but he was quoted in the Denver Post as saying, "I have not been contacted by anybody at the University of Utah."
