FORT COLLINS, Colo. - OK, not to be overly negative, but . . .

  • On Saturday, the Colorado State Rams suffered a heartbreaking 36-33 loss at home to UNLV, playing abysmal run defense to end their regular season on a down note.

  • On Sunday, they learned the opponent they will play in what might be the coldest game on the bowl slate spits in opponents' faces, provokes game-ending brawls and has a running back who ran for 287 yards and three touchdowns Saturday.

Other than that, things are just swell in Ramsland.

CSU faces Texas Christian in the 44th annual Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., on Dec. 31, with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m. MST on ESPN.

The Horned Frogs (9-2) clinched at least a tie for the Conference USA title with a 27-20 home win against the University of Memphis on Saturday, then officially accepted the Liberty invitation.
