ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Christmas Day Las Vegas Bowl is still a possibility for the University of New Mexico football team.

That bowl's committee will wait until after Saturday's Wyoming-UNM game to hand out its Mountain West Conference invitation.

The committee met Tuesday to decide whether it will invite Air Force, which is already bowl-eligible, or wait to see if the Lobos (6-6, 4-2) become bowl-eligible with a win over Wyoming at University Stadium.

"Everybody on the committee felt we needed to let the (UNM) game be played first," said Tina Kunzer-Murphy, executive director of the Las Vegas Bowl. "There's no invitation that's being extended yet."
