COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brett Ratliff (Utah), Casey Evans (Utah) and Johnny Walker (Colorado State) are Mountain West Conference Players of the Week. Ratliff earns Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Evans is the Defensive selection and Walker collects Special Teams recognition. Evans captures his second career weekly award, while Ratliff and Walker are a first time honorees.

OFFENSE: BRETT RATLIFF, UTAH, JUNIOR, QUARTERBACK
In his first-ever NCAA Division I-A start, Ratliff completed 17-of-32 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns in Utah's 41-34 overtime win at BYU. Ratliff also rushed for 112 yards on 19 carries (5.9 yards per rush) and one touchdown.

DEFENSE: CASEY EVANS, UTAH, JUNIOR, DEFENSIVE BACK
Evans totaled a career-high 13 tackles (8 solo) and forced a fumble in Utah's victory at BYU. In the second quarter, Evans stripped Cougar fullback Naufahu Tahi on the BYU 30 and returned it to the 7-yard line. Utah scored two plays later to take a 24-3 lead into halftime.

Johnny Walker


SPECIAL TEAMS: JOHNNY WALKER, COLORADO STATE, SOPHOMORE, PUNT RETURNER
Walker had two punt returns for 85 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown return at the beginning of the fourth quarter that helped Colorado State to a 31-27 win at UNLV. It was the first punt return for a score since Sept. 14, 2002 (104 punts) for the Rams.
