COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU senior Chase Ortiz ranks among the individuals named to the 2007 Ted Hendricks Award Mid-season Watch List. The Hendricks Award is presented annually to the nation's top defensive end.

Ortiz ranks second in the Mountain West Conference with 8.0 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss on the season, a mark that is half a sack shy of tying the MWC's single-season record. The League City, Texas tops the league's career list in tackles for loss with 19.5 in three years as a Horned Frog.

Ortiz also has appeared on 2007 watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, Rotary Lombardi Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
