He'd Skip Cable Cars for Slo-Mo Memphis The Albuquerque Tribune Feature Story
Nov. 18, 2003
By Richard Stevens ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Maybe it takes a self-proclaimed "kind of redneck" from Bixby, Okla., like Kyle Coulter to pick a trip to Memphis, Tenn., over a trip to San Francisco. San Francisco is one of the top destination cities in the world. San Fran drools with culture and history. San Fran, the site of the San Francisco Bowl, has the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Pacific Heights, Union Square, Nob Hill, Haight-Ashbury, Fisherman's Wharf, cool cable cars and a really big ocean. Memphis, the site of the Liberty Bowl, is noted for a really big river and Graceland, the former home of Elvis "The King" Presley. But Coulter, the nose guard for the bowl-bound University of New Mexico Lobos, can be forgiven his choice. Because if Coulter's Lobos go to Memphis, it will mean they go there as kings of the Mountain West Conference.
