COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - DonTrell Moore (New Mexico), Alex Smith (Utah), and Daniel Gawronski (New Mexico) were named Mountain West Conference Players of the Week following Week Twelve action. Moore and Smith share Offensive Player of the Week, and Gawronski takes Defensive honors. There was no special teams player selected. Moore wins the award for the second time in as many weeks and third of his career (2002). Smith is recognized for the third time this season, while Gawronski is honored for the first time ever.

MWC co-Offensive Player of the Week
DonTrell Moore, New Mexico, Running Back, Sophomore

In New Mexico's win over Air Force, DonTrell Moore rushed for 188 yards to break the school's single-season rushing record of 1,240 set in 1976. Moore added to his NCAA-leading scoring mark with a pair of touchdown runs. The sophomore tailback leads the nation with 20 touchdowns, and sits atop the MWC with 1,285 rushing yards.

MWC co-Offensive Player of the Week
Alex Smith, Utah, Quarterback, Sophomore

Utah quarterback Alex Smith directed an offensive attack that helped to clinch the Utes no worse than a share of the Mountain West Conference title with their 47-17 win against Wyoming. Smith accounted for five touchdowns, including three rushing, and 372 yards of total offense. He connected on 17 of 26 passes for 296 yards, while rushing 15 times for 76 more.

MWC Defensive Player of the Week
Daniel Gawronski, New Mexico, Linebacker, Senior

Linebacker Daniel Gawronski tallied a career-high 14 tackles, including nine solo stops, for New Mexico in its win over Air Force. Gawronski led a defensive charge that held the nation's third ranked rushing offense to its lowest totals of the season for points (12), rushing yards (158) and total yards (273).
