IT'S A SELLOUT! Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl to Install Additional Seating for Dec. 21 Game
Nov. 17, 2006 LAS VEGAS - The 4,100 additional seats put on sale Thursday morning for the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl sold out within five hours of becoming available, the game's Executive Director, Tina Kunzer-Murphy, announced this afternoon. The only tickets that remain are the teams' allotment of 12,000 apiece, which will be sold by the respective schools participating after they have been invited to the game in the coming weeks. The Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl, which is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, will be played Thursday, Dec. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. PST at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will once again be shown nationally on ESPN and ESPNHD. This year's crowd for the 15th annual bowl is nearly guaranteed to be the biggest in event history because last year's record attendance of 40,053 did not include the temporary bleacher seating that was announced on Wednesday.
