Week 11 Recap
BYU earned at least a share of its third Mountain West Conference crown while Utah became the third MWC squad to become bowl-eligible. The Cougars, undefeated thus far in league play, can capture the title outright with a win at either New Mexico or Utah in the next two weeks. The Utes are now in the hunt for a bowl berth alongside BYU and TCU after notching their sixth win on the season.

Last Thursday, the Cougars rolled past Wyoming, 55-7, to win their seventh straight contest. On Saturday, Utah racked up 526 yards of offense en route to a 35-22 victory over Colorado State, while San Diego State held UNLV to 39 yards rushing to pick up its fourth win in five meetings against the Rebels, 21-7. In other league action, TCU returned a fumble for a touchdown in the first quarter and picked off a late New Mexico pass to claim its fourth consecutive win, 27-21.

In the only non-conference game of the week, Air Force dropped a 17-39 decision to 8th-ranked Notre Dame.

In The Rankings
BYU has cracked the BCS Standings for the first time since December 3, 2001, and is currently ranked 25th. In addition, the Cougars moved up two spots to No. 23 in the Associated Press poll, and are 24th in both the USA Today/Coaches Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll. The No. 23 ranking in the AP Poll is BYU's highest position in any poll since being ranked 19th in the December 9, 2001 AP poll. This also is the first time BYU has been ranked in the Coaches Poll since September 8, 2002.

Mountain West Race
BYU is currently 6-0 in league play and holds a two-game lead over Utah (4-2) and a two-and a half-game lead over Air Force (3-2) and TCU (3-2) in the standings. Three weeks remain in the regular season and BYU has clinched at least a share of the MWC title. The Cougars can claim the outright league crown with a victory over New Mexico Saturday. BYU has not won a league championship since the 2001 season.

Who's Bowl Eligible?
BYU (8-2), TCU (7-2) and Utah (6-4) are all bowl eligible. New Mexico and Wyoming each have five victories on the season and are in need of one more win to become bowl eligible. Air Force and Colorado State are still in the bowl hunt with four victories apiece. The Falcons must win two of their final three games, while the Rams must win their last two contests.

Week 12 Preview
23rd-ranked BYU (8-2, 6-0) hosts New Mexico (5-5, 3-3) in Provo. Since 2001, the visiting team has won the game with four of those five contests decided by four points or less.

Wyoming (5-6, 4-3) travels to Las Vegas for a match-up with UNLV (1-9, 0-6). The Cowboys have won two straight in the series after losing five in a row from 1999-2003. Two of the last four meetings have been decided in overtime.

Air Force (4-5, 3-2) faces Utah (6-4, 4-2) in Colorado Springs. The Utes have won three straight in the series, including a 45-43 triple-overtime decision in their last visit to Falcon Stadium in 2003.

TCU (7-2, 3-2) hosts San Diego State (2-7, 2-3) in just the second meeting between the two teams. This will be the Aztecs' first-ever trip to Fort Worth.

Beck Continues to Break MWC Records
BYU quarterback John Beck passed for 313 yards and two touchdowns in the win against Wyoming last Thursday. Beck currently has a career total of 68 touchdown passes and is the all-time Mountain West Conference career touchdown leader. He also moved into second on the BYU charts, surpassing the 66 TD passes by John Walsh (1991-94) and Robbie Bosco (1983-85). Beck has 9,800 career passing yards, breaking Casey Bramlet of Wyoming's record of 9,684 yards from 2000-03. Beck moved into second on the BYU passing list, ahead of Jim McMahon who had 9,536 career yards.

UNLV's Wolfe Breaks MWC Freshman Receiving Record
UNLV wide receiver Ryan Wolfe caught six passes for 79 yards at San Diego State last Saturday and set two records in the process. Wolfe set the UNLV freshman single-season record with 45 receptions, surpassing the previous mark of 41 was set by Damon Williams in 1995. Wolfe also set a MWC freshman record with 783 yards, breaking the old mark of 771 set by BYU's Austin Collie in 2004. Wolfe also holds the UNLV freshman single-season receiving record, besting Len Ware's mark of 628 in 1996 after just eight games.

Wolfe currently leads the MWC and ranks 22nd in the nation in receiving yards with 78.3 per game, which is the second-best mark by a freshman in the NCAA this season behind Akron's David Harvey, who ranks 13th with 87.4 yards per game.
