FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU and the University of Virginia will begin a home-and-home football series next season in Charlottesville, Va.

The Horned Frogs and Cavaliers will meet Sept. 12 at Scott Stadium. Virginia will travel to Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth in the 2012 campaign.

Virginia gives 15th-ranked TCU (9-2, 6-1) three confirmed non-conference games next season. The Frogs also have Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 home dates with Texas State and SMU, respectively. A fourth and final non-conference game will be announced later.

TCU and Virginia will face each other for just the second time in their history. The first meeting saw a 20-10 Cavalier victory in the 1994 Independence Bowl.

Virginia represents the Frogs' first game against an ACC opponent since 1997, when North Carolina won 31-10 at TCU.

The Cavaliers, coached by Al Groh, are 5-5 this season with a 3-3 mark in ACC play.

The Frogs are 11-3 in their last 14 games against teams from conferences with automatic BCS bids.
