This week's action saw 25th-ranked BYU earn at least a share of its third Mountain West Conference crown while Utah became the third MWC squad to become bowl-eligible. The Cougars, undefeated thus far in league play, can capture the title outright with a win at either New Mexico or Utah. Meanwhile, the Utes are now in the hunt for a bowl berth alongside BYU and TCU after notching their sixth win on the season.

On Thursday, the Cougars rolled past Wyoming, 55-7, to win their seventh straight decision. On Saturday, Utah racked up 526 yards of offense en route to a 35-22 victory over Colorado State, while San Diego State held UNLV to 39 yards rushing to pick up its fourth win in five meetings against the Rebels, 21-7. In other league action, TCU returned a fumble for a touchdown and a picked off a late New Mexico pass to claim up its fourth consecutive win, 27-21.

In the only non-conference game of the week, Air Force dropped a 39-17 decision to Notre Dame.
