COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brian Johnson (Utah), Eric Weddle (Utah), Dan Beardall (Utah) are Mountain West Conference Players of the Week. Johnson earns Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Weddle is the Defensive selection and Beardall collects Special Teams recognition. Beardall and Weddle capture their second career weekly award, while Johnson is a first-time honoree.

OFFENSE: BRIAN JOHNSON, UTAH, SOPHOMORE, QUARTERBACK
Johnson completed 32-of-45 passes for 384 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Utah's 43-13 victory over Wyoming. Johnson also led the Utes in rushing with 10 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown. His 451 yards of total offense is the eighth-best single-game mark in school history and ranks fifth in MWC history.

DEFENSE: ERIC WEDDLE, UTAH, JUNIOR, CORNERBACK
Weddle moved from safety to cornerback to cover the Mountain West's leading receiver, Wyoming's Jovon Bouknight, and held him to four receptions for 43 yards after averaging 6.5 receptions and 105.38 yards per game entering the contest. Weddle led Utah with 10 tackles (7 solo), including an eight-yard sack, and had three pass breakups.

Dan Beardall


SPECIAL TEAMS: DAN BEARDALL, UTAH, SENIOR, PLACE KICKER
Beardall made on all three field goal attempts against Wyoming (22, 37, 45) and currently has connected on 11 consecutive field goals to tie the school record set back in 1985 (Andre Guardi).
