Newton, Robles and Adams Named Mountain West Conference Football Players of the Week Adams and Robles garner honor for the first time in their careers.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Matt Newton (Colorado State), Dylan Robles (SDSU) and Dave Adams (Air Force) were named Mountain West Conference Players of the Week for their performances on the football field last weekend. Robles and Adams earned MWC Player of the Week honors for the first time, while Newton captured the award for the second time this season. Matt Newton, Colorado State, QB, Senior (MWC Offensive Player of the Week) Matt Newton completed 19-of-31 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns in Colorado State's 45-21 victory over BYU last Thursday. Newton, a senior from Englewood, Colo., got things started early for the Rams as he hit Pete Rebstock on a 69-yard pass for a touchdown 3:36 into the game. He also had touchdown tosses of 13 and 51 yards. Newton currently ranks sixth in Colorado State history in career passing yards (4,684) and fifth in career touchdowns (35). Dylan Robles, San Diego State, LB, Junior (MWC Defensive Player of the Week) Dylan Robles recorded a career-high 10 tackles (five unassisted), two quarterback sacks and four tackles for loss in the Aztecs 17-16 come from behind victory over New Mexico. Robles, a junior from Poway, Calif., also forced and recovered a fumble as the SDSU defense held the Lobos to just 4-of-17 on third down conversions and shutout UNM in the second half. Senior place kicker Dave Adams tied a school record after connecting on 4-of-4 field goal attempts in the Falcons 41-27 victory over at Army. He became the first player since Joe Wood in 1991 vs. Army to hit four field goals in a game. Adams was successful from 32, 43, 53 and 54 yards in helping Air Force capture its fourth straight Commanders-in-Chief's Trophy. Adams became the first Falcon to kick two 50-yard field goals in a game, with the 54-yarder being a career-high and the third longest in MWC history.
