BYU, TCU and Utah remain undefeated in conference play

Three teams remain undefeated in Mountain West Conference play following Week 7 football action on Saturday. No. 9/8 BYU extended the nation's longest active win streak to 16 games with a 21-3 victory over New Mexico, while No. 14/13 Utah rolled past Wyoming (40-7) for its eighth consecutive victory. Elsewhere, TCU outlasted Colorado State (13-7) and Air Force beat San Diego State (35-10).

- With the victory, 6-0 BYU becomes bowl-eligible for the fourth consecutive year under head coach Bronco Mendenhall.
- BYU's Austin Collie registered his fourth consecutive 100-yard receiving game and fifth straight game with a TD reception, finishing with a career-high 155 yards on nine catches. Collie also had a four-game stretch of 100-yard receiving games last season (Nov. 3-Nov. 24).
- The Cougars extended the nation's longest active win streak to 16 games, while also pushing their streaks of consecutive home wins and MWC victories to 16 and 18 games, respectively.
- New Mexico held BYU to a season-low 21 points; the Cougars came into the game averaging 41.2 points. BYU did not score in the first quarter for the first time this season.

- Utah capitalized on five Wyoming turnovers en route to the 40-7 victory, scoring three of its five touchdowns on an interception return, blocked punt return and a fumble recovery.
- The Utes, who have won eight consecutive games dating back to last season, are 7-0 for the first time since an undefeated 12-0 campaign in 2004.
- The Cowboys saw their MWC losing streak stretch to eight games. Wyoming's last win in conference play was a 29-24 decision vs. UNLV on Oct. 27, 2007.
- The 33-point margin marked the worst home loss for Wyoming since the 2000 season.

- The 13-7 victory marked TCU's fifth-straight win vs. Colorado State and ended a five-game home win streak for the Rams.
- The Frogs improved to 47-0 when allowing 17 or fewer points under head coach Gary Patterson. Overall, TCU has won 62 consecutive games when holding its opponent to 17 points or less.
- TCU allowed only 199 yards of offense, marking the fifth time in seven games the Frogs have held their opponent under the 200-yard mark.
- The Frogs' defensive unit registered six sacks (-51 yards) and 10 tackles for loss (-58 yards) in the contest.

- Air Force scored 28 points in the second half to rally from a 10-7 deficit and snap a two-game losing streak at San Diego State, winning for the first time since 2001 (45-21) at Qualcomm Stadium.
- The Falcons' 28-point outburst over the final two quarters marks the program's largest scoring half this season. The previous best was 21 vs. Southern Utah in the first half of the season opener.
- Asher Clark finished with season-highs of 15 carries and 109 yards in his first career start to become the first Air Force freshman to rush for a 100 yards since Qualario Brown in 1997 (158 yards vs. San Jose State). The Falcons are 10-1 under head coach Troy Calhoun in games with a 100-yard rusher.
- San Diego State limited Air Force to an Aztec opponent season-low 72 yards through the air. It is the first time an SDSU opponent failed to reach 100 yards passing since New Mexico had 87 in 2006.
