Mountain West Names Football Players of the Week

Boise State QB Kellen Moore, Colorado State DE Nordly Capi and TCU KR Greg McCoy honored

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Kellen Moore (Boise State), Nordly Capi (Colorado State) and Greg McCoy (TCU) are the Mountain West Players of the Week for games through Sept. 3. Moore earns Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Capi garners the Defensive Player award and McCoy receives Special Teams recognition. This marks the first career MW weekly accolade for all three players.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KELLEN MOORE, BOISE STATE
Senior, Quarterback, Prosser, Wash./Prosser HS

Kellen Moore completed 28-of-34 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns to lead No. 5 Boise State to a 35-21 win over No. 19 Georgia. The Prosser, Wash., native threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half, connecting with wide receiver Matt Miller on a 17-yard score late in the first quarter before throwing a 12-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kyle Efaw in the final minute of the first half. Moore added another strike in the third quarter, finding wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker at the 3:10 mark to put the Broncos ahead, 28-7. Moore, who was not sacked in the game, finished the night with an efficiency rating of 170.07.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NORDLY CAPI, COLORADO STATE
Sophomore, Defensive End, Ocoee, Fla./Ocoee HS

Nordly Capi set a new NCAA single-game record with four forced fumbles in Colorado State's 14-10 victory at New Mexico. Capi's fourth forced fumble of the contest helped the Rams preserve their first conference victory. With nine seconds remaining and the Lobos positioned at the Ram 15 yard line, the Ocoee, Fla. native stripped New Mexico QB Tarean Austin and recovered the ball to wrap up CSU's first victory of 2011.The win also snapped an 11-game road losing streak. In total, Capi registered seven tackles (five solo), 4.5 tackles for loss (-27 yards), 3.5 sacks (-22), four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GREG MCCOY, TCU
Senior, Kick Returner, Dallas, Texas/Woodrow Wilson HS

Greg McCoy established a new TCU single-game record with 229 kick return yards in the 14th-ranked Horned Frogs' 50-48 loss at Baylor. His single-game total of 229 kick return yards also rank fourth-best in Mountain West history. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, McCoy helped TCU establish field position from the start of the game, returning his first two kickoffs for 73 and 68 yards, respectively. Both returns set up Horned Frog scores. In total, McCoy averaged 38.2 yards on six kick returns against the Bears.
