SAN DIEGO -

The San Diego State University football team will kick off its second season of the Brady Hoke Era when they welcome Nicholls State to Qualcomm Stadium. Kickoff is set for shortly after 5 p.m.

Below is a timeline of the day’s events.

1 p.m. Parking lot and ticket office open. Tickets are available for Saturday’s game, starting at $5. All SDSU students receive free tickets with a valid Red ID.

3 p.m. The Aztec Village tailgate (section F-1) and official student tailgate (section K-2) open. Both are free. Aztec Village is open to all and features a festive atmosphere with live music, as well as food and drink available to purchase. Free football season schedule posters will be available at the Aztec Village tailgate and at select Qualcomm concourse locations.

3 p.m. The Warrior Walk will take place. Fans are invited to come take part in a new SDSU tradition and cheer the players as they walk from the team buses to the locker room. The players will walk between the E and F parking lots en route to the stadium. The Warrior Walk will take place two hours prior to every home game this season. 3 p.m. Qualcomm Stadium gates open.

4:59 p.m. San Diego State’s new supplemental character will be introduced for the first time ever. The character will work in conjunction with the current spirit squad - cheerleaders, dance team and Aztec Warrior – and make its debut prior to the Honorary Warrior and team.

5 p.m. Former three-time All-American at SDSU and NFL Most Valuable Player Marshall Faulk will run out of the tunnel as the debut Honorary Warrior. Faulk will plant the Aztec spear near the 50-yard line before the team runs out to the field. The 2010 team is reviving the “Black Swarm” tradition, slowly making their way out of the tunnel as a close-knit unit.
